Our vision for Faith Community Church is to be a people that are committed to obeying the command of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We believe the two most prominent directives of our Lord form the basis of life within His church. In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus was asked “What was the great commandment of the law?” Jesus responded with what is known as the Great Commandment:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
(Matthew 22:37-39)
The second foundational directive that forms the basis of our fellowship is found in the departing Lord Jesus. Before leaving this earth in His heavenly ascension, Jesus laid the responsibility of relaying the good news of His saving life in the hands of the church:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you…
(Matthew 28:19-20)…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
(Acts 1:8)
Our vision is to be a people that are dedicated to living out the Great Commandment; loving God and loving our neighbor. And also be committed to laboring under the Great Commission; telling everyone the good news of Jesus Christ.
